Overview and Problem

With an expanding company, a much needed update to bring the website easier to navigate and use by users has become priority.

What is Tellussol?

Tellussol is an information technology company that works with the world's largest companies and government agencies to solve their IT and business challenges. The website acts as a primary touchpoint for communicating service offerings and driving client engagement.

Stakeholders aimed to restructure the site to better reflect their evolving service areas and improve clarity for users navigating complex technical solutions.

Problem Definition

Users struggled to understand Tellussol’s service offerings due to fragmented information architecture, complex navigation, and undefined technical terminology.

This lack of clarity created friction in how users explored solutions, making it difficult to quickly identify relevant services and reducing the effectiveness of the website as a tool for communicating value and driving engagement.

Contraints

The redesign needed to align with stakeholder requirements, including removing existing navigation categories and introducing a new “Solutions” structure. They also wanted to update their logo and

The challenge was balancing technical depth with accessibility while maintaining a clear and scalable structure.

Approach and Process

I conducted an audit of the existing site to evaluate information architecture, navigation patterns, and content clarity.

Based on this, I identified key gaps in how services were categorized and understood. I then restructured the information architecture to create a more intuitive and scalable framework for organizing solutions.

Key Insights

  • Users were required to navigate multiple overlapping categories, increasing cognitive load

  • Technical terminology was not clearly defined, limiting accessibility for non-expert users

  • The structure reflected internal organization rather than user mental models.

Solutions & Design Decisions

Consolidated navigation to simplify and reduce fragmentation and improve discoverability.

Introduced clear definitions for each technical area (e.g., cloud, cybersecurity) to improve user comprehension and accessibility.

Impact & Outcome

The work helped highlight key usability and structural issues, influencing stakeholder discussions around simplifying navigation and clarifying service offerings.

Reflection and Next Steps

If given more time, I would make more iterations and validate each new structure through user testing and measure its impact on engagement and navigation efficiency.

This project reinforced the importance of aligning information architecture with user mental models rather than internal structures.
